Starting in January 2010, all registered relative and aide providers will need to complete a 6 hour training by Sept 19th, 2010 in order to continue to get paid through DHS. This 6 hour class is called “Great Start to Quality Orientation” and will cover CPR/ First Aid and basic health and safety information. After completing the Great Start Orientation, Relative and Aide providers will have the opportunity to earn an extra $.25 per hour in reimbursement for child care by completeing an additional 10 hours of approved training per year (Tier 2).
